HENRI CARTIER-BRESSON The Modern Century: at SF Moma

Visited the Cartier-Bresson exhibit and was happily entranced for a number of hours. Some of the photos I was very familiar with, having seen them many times before, but you would have to be living in a bubble not to have glimpsed this famous photographers works somewhere. This is a huge exhibit with not only prints but many printed versions of his works, from advertisements to old Life magazines and newspapers. Scads of great photos I had never seen before as well as the more famous and so nice to see the original prints in luminous glory. I didn’t realize how well-traveled Bresson was, there are shots from every corner of the globe, many surrounding important world events and peoples. An exhibit I heartily recommend for just about anyone.

Exhibit runs thru Jan. 30th, 2011 , SFMOMA
