Can You Say Va-gi-nah?

Women’s Caucus for Art (WCA) is sponsoring a blockbuster art exhibit at the National Steinbeck Center in collaboration with an Honoring Women’s Rights conference. You can get a sneak peek of the art during the Steinbeck’s First Friday – it’s free to the public— along with pre-registration to the conference, a book reading by the keynote speaker, Louise Bernikow, and a jewelry sale. Concurrent to these arts events are a Women’s Faire Trade showcasing local organizations that support and empower women and girls.

Where:  National Steinbeck Center, Salinas, CA

Dates: Friday, Sept. 7th – Sunday Sept. 9th, 2012

Art Exhibition Opening: Sept. 8th from 6 – 9pm

This is a great cause and deserves your support, they have a donation link and more info here. The conference looks very interesting and the exhibition promises some strong art by women about women, local artists mostly. ( Just a few pieces posted below.) The space is pretty classy too – should be a fun weekend. To buy tickets for the conference, one day or all three,  go here.
